Bernard Shaw letter to Lord Kennet, between 1922 and 1950.

Carbon copy of typed letter to Edward Hilton Young, Lord Kennet of the Dene (3 pages of vellum) and Shaw's handwritten draft (2 pages) chiefly in shorthand. Shaw is giving advice to Young on writing the biography of Kathleen Scott, Young's wife and widow of Robert Falcon Scott, who died in a voyage to Antarctica. He felt it might be difficult to do justice to Kathleen without debunking Scott because of the terrible outcome of Scott's voyage and the earlier success of Roald Amundsen's trip to Antarctica as written by Cherry-Garrard. Leather spine and cloth boards with many blank pages.

[5] p. ; 28 cm.
